What to Expect

Q: What is a peer-to-peer support group?
A: A peer-to-peer support group is a safe space where people who have experienced loss can share their grief journey with others who understand. It's facilitated by those who have experienced grief themselves.

Q: What happens during a meeting?
A: Meetings typically involve sharing experiences, listening to others, and providing mutual support in a confidential and non-judgmental environment.

Q: Do I have to talk or share my story?
A: No, you are never required to share. You can simply listen until you feel ready to participate. There is no pressure to speak.

Q: How long should I wait after my loss before attending?
A: There is no "right" time. Some people come soon after their loss, while others attend months or years later. Come when you feel ready.

Practical Information

Q: Is there a cost to attend?
A: No.

Q: Is parking available?
A: As the meeting is held at Marton Cricket Club, parking is typically available on-site.

Q: What if I arrive late?
A: While it's best to arrive at 10:00 AM, we understand that grief can make punctuality difficult. Please come even if you're running late.

Q: Can I bring a friend or family member?
A: Yes

Privacy and Confidentiality

Q: Is what I share kept confidential?
A: Yes, confidentiality is a cornerstone of peer support groups. What is shared in the group stays in the group.

Q: Will I be contacted outside of meetings?
A: Your privacy is respected. Contact outside meetings only occurs if you specifically request it or provide consent.
